Travis Hamonic / Moose Jaw Warriors WHL
D-R / 6-0, 192 / 16-Aug-1990
Skating: 55 / Skill: 40 / Sense: 50 / Compete: 55 / Tough: 50
Strengths: Well rounded, two-way game. Physical. August birthdate makes him one of the youngest players in the draft.
Weaknesses: No real standout quality to his game. May have limited upside. Needs to drop the gloves more often.
Does a lot of things well, but his overall game does not jump out at you. Good overall mobility, but not an elite skater. Decent puck ability, but does not appear to have a lot of offensive upside. Good strength and has a physical presence.. Looked like he can handle himself in the one fight I saw him in, so why did he only have 3 fighting majors this season?
Summary: One of those players you need to see a lot to appreciate.
Target/Want: Only realized after the season was over and went over all my viewing notes that this guy could turn out to be a pretty decent prospect. A bit of a draft wildcard - might have to spend a pretty high pick (3rd/4th) to get him.
