Tri-City Americans 2010 Eligibles

Brendan Shinnimin / C: Wow, what a difference from last year. Everything improved in his game. Excellent speed and offensive hockey sense. Not afraid to stick his nose in traffic despite his smallish size. Only negative (other than the size) that I see is that he slows down a bit when handling the puck, but with his playmaking ability, that works okay for him. I'm stunned Central left this guy off their list - are there really 400 better prospects out there than this guy? I think he's a good value in the 4th round or so.

Jordan Messier / RW: Big guy has some very nice hands and a knack for getting to the net. He'd be higher if he skated better. Late round interest for me.

Patrick Holland / RW: Very raw, but he can really shoot the puck. Doesn't seem to like phyiscal contact much. Shooting touch alone should be enough to get a camp invite.

Brooks Macek / C
: Smallish, smart playmaker. Good agility but skating isn't a huge plus. This is an excellent junior player, but there just isn't enough here to get very excited about the pro prospects.

Justin Feser / LW: Another good junior player, but too small and spends way too much time on the perimeter to be much of a pro prospect. Surprising how invisible he could be at times this season despite being on the scoresheet so much.

Other 2010s: Cody Castro, Tanner Olstad

2011 Outlook: Nils Moser, Dyrdn Dow, Zach Yuen. Yuen looks like he has some puck skill, but he hasn't produced much yet.
